DC Kohima lifts ASF ban order

Kohima, November 13 (MExN): The Kohima district administration has lifted the earlier order that imposed restrictions on the slaughter of pigs, import or export of live pigs and piglets, as well as the transportation of pigs and pork in Sechü Zubza with immediate effect. The ban had been imposed after declaring the area as Infected Zones and Surveillance Zones of African Swine Fever (ASF). Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant issued an order lifting the ban following the lapse of 2 months and with no further report of new outbreak as per  the protocol of ' National Action Plan' for Control, Containment and Eradication of ASF laid down by the Government of India, informed the State DIPR. The order emphasised that the public must strictly adhere to hygienic and bio-security measures, remain vigilant, and report any unusual sickness or death to the concerned authority, it added.
