Dimapur, June 19 (MExN): Dimapur District Legal Services Authority (DDLSA) in collaboration with Naga Women Welfare Organisation Diphupar ‘B’ Village, Dimapur organized a programme with rural women on various welfare schemes/rights & privileges at the Council hall, Diphupar ‘B’ Village, Dimapur on June 18.
A press release from NSLSA, Public Relations Assistant stated Khumchuba, Panel lawyer, DDLSA spoke about the various welfare schemes for women provided by the Government and encouraged the gathering to avail schemes provided by the government.
Sentimenla, Panel lawyer, DDLSA spoke about basic legal rights with reference to women staing that a female cannot be arrested after sunset and before sunrise. Zuchumbeni Ngullie, Panel Lawyer, DDLSA spoke about Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005.
Y Longkumer, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Dimapur & Chairperson, DDLSA summed up the programme and encouraged the womenfolk to stand up and fight for their rights and to avail the services of the Legal Services Authority which is for the downtrodden and marginalized section of the society. Earlier, the programme was led by Elito Zhimomi, Panel Lawyer, DDLSA followed by the welcome address by the President of Naga Women Welfare Organization, Diphupar ‘B’ Village.
