DDRC: 83 PwDs registered on concluding day

Dimapur, February 22 (MExN): A two-day assessment camp for free distribution of various aids and assistive devices (wheelchairs, crutches, hearing aids, blind sticks etc) to Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) concluded today at DDRC, District Hospital, Dimapur. 


The final day witnessed 83 beneficiaries, with a total of 175, a press release from Dr Imlitemsu Ozukum, MD (PMR), in-charge DDRC, District Hospital, Dimapur informed.


Out of the total beneficiaries, 88 are from locomotor disability and cerebral palsy combined, 56 are hearing impaired, while 25 are visually impaired and 6 from intellectual disability. He also informed that some PwDs are yet to avail benefits.


The camp was organized by the ALIMCO, Guwahati under their CSR programme sponsored by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited through the office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Nagaland, the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur and DDRC (District Disability Rehabilitation Center), District Hospital, Dimapur.
