Dead body of missing Nagaland cop recovered

The dead body of a Nagaland police constable who had gone missing on September 17 was recovered on Saturday.
Earlier on September 20, the Dimapur Police had informed that Yanponthung N Tungoe who was serving in the 13th NAP (IR) ‘A’ Coy and had gone missing on September 17 from Niuland 13th NAP (IR) Camp. 

A missing first information report (FIR) has been received at Niuland Police Station that he went missing on September 17 from Niuland, stated the missing notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) & PRO, Dimapur Police. 

On Saturday evening, the OC, Niuland Police Station confirmed that the body was found in a decomposed state in Niuland area.

Post mortem examination was conducted in Dimapur District Hospital and the body has been handed over to family members, he said.

Meanwhile, Dimapur Commissioner of Police Rothihu Tetseo informed that Tungoe’s body was found by villagers who had gone looking for pig fodder near the Zubza Bridge in Niuland area.
