Demonetisation causing untold hardships in Kiphire: ARSU

Kiphire, December 3 (MExN): The Amahator Range Students’ Union (ARSU) has stated that demonitisation is causing “untold hardships” for people in Kiphire district.

ARSU made the claim in a representation to the Assistant General Manager (AGM), State Bank of India, Regional Business Office (RBO), Dimapur while seeking immediate intervention on the issue.

Laying down some of the hardships faced by the customers of Kiphire district, the union stated that though Kiphire Branch was upgraded to Grade IV, no additional manpower was deployed. With festive season fast approaching, the union lamented that the shortage of manpower had resulted in very little loans being sanctioned.

Also pointing out that the new SBI Building construction was completed in October 2015, the union rued that the office remains to be shifted “due to various reasons”. It cautioned that the present SBI building is on the “verge of collapse” and warned that the sub-standard building and electric wiring of the building remains “a high risk”. “Anything may happen at any time,” it added.   ARSU expressed confidence that the AGM would personally intervene and ease the problems of the public of Kiphire district. “Kiphire general public is at the mercy of SBI Kiphire/RBO Super market Dimapur,” the union stated.
