KOHIMA, MAY 29 (MExN): A rostrum in Khomi village, constructed under LADP fund, was inaugurated by Parliamentary Secretary for Higher and Technical Education, Deo Nukhu on May 28.
Deo Nukhu highlighted the importance of having a good playground in every village to promote games and sports and also to keep oneself physically fit. He also called upon the people of Khomi village to give more emphasis on agriculture and allied sectors in order to improve their economic status, a press release received here said. He said the village has the potential to produce more through agriculture.
The release noted that under Nukhu’s initiative, 10 standard size playgrounds along with few rostrums have been constructed in the Chizami Assembly Constituency under Local Area Development Programme (LADP) fund since he was elected as MLA in 2003. The function was chaired by Vedusu Lohe, President of Middle Khomi Youth Organisation, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Nuvecho, President, Khomi Public Organisation. The event was attended by leaders from Upper Khomi, Middle Khomi, Lower Khomi village, and Nukhosa Khesoh, President, Chakhesang Sports Association, and Mhasheyi, President, Pholami Youth Organisation and his office bearers.
