DIMAPUR, AUGUST 22 (MExN): The Nuiland Area Citizen Forum (NACF) has expressed concern over the deplorable condition of the road between 4th mile junction to Niuland town.
In a press statement, NACF said the road stretch from 4th mile bridge to Niuland which connects many villages under Ghaspani-2 and Ghaspani-1 assembly constituency and also used by Ralan area commuters and during emergency road diversions has almost become un-motorable due to years of negligence.
The Forum lamented that the terrible road condition not only slow down the traffic but has also cause several accidents causing human tragedies, economic losses to the common people. The road has also become a breeding ground for mosquitoes as they are perpetually filled with water, it added.
The Forum also sought to point out that Niuland as an ADC Hq has many government offices and educational institutions and most of the staff shuttle between Dimapur and Niuland area on a daily basis.
Considering that this road is a life line for many villages and alternate road for other districts connectivity, the Forum has urged the concerned department/ministry to look into the issue and take concrete measures at the earliest.
