Dept updates on Gastroenteritis outbreak in Wanching

Five out of six water sources found contaminated  

Mon, August 16 (DIPR): The monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), Mon was held on August 16 at Deputy Commissioner’s conference Hall and chaired by DC & Vice-Chairman of DPDB Mon, W. Honje Konyak.  

Dy. CMO Mon, Dr. Akaba Jamir highlighted on the outbreak of acute Gastroenteritis (AGE), water borne disease, which affected Wanching Village recently. The department, in collaboration with the PHE Department Mon, checked the water sources and found that out of six water sources of the villages five sources were contaminated. For this the concerned department has chlorinated all the water sources.  

The board recommended registration of Christian Rural Care Society, Aboi. Divisional Forest Officer, Mon, Ao Chuba, IFS gave a power point presentation on “Climate change – its impact on Earth”.  

The house resolved to plant at least one sapling in and around Mon town either in their office compound, residence or along the road side. The house entrusted Social Welfare department to highlight their activities in the next DPDB meeting.
