DIMAPUR, JANUARY 17 (MExN): Deputy Election Commissioner, Sudeep Jain visited Nagaland on January 16 and held a series of meetings with election officials, all the political parties, district administration, and security forces at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Kohima in connection with the forth coming General Election. He will be visiting Wokha, Mokokchung and Dimapur till January 18 to have a firsthand knowledge to review the poll preparedness, informed a DIPR report.
Naga Hoho delegation in Delhi
A delegation of the Naga Hoho has left for New Delhi to impress upon the Government of India for postponement of assembly elections in Nagaland State. A press note from the Naga Hoho meanwhile appealed to the Chief Election Commissioner “not to impose Indian Election at this juncture.” “Rather we request them to understand the ground reality and convince the Government of India to postpone the election,” the Naga Hoho appealed.
