Dimapur, August 18 (MExN): The Dimapur Government Alumni Association (DGAA) conducted a social work on the morning of August 17, in a continuous effort to maintain climate friendly environment and cleanliness in and around the College.


A press release issued by the DGCAA stated that the alumnis cut the weeds and removed garbage around a waiting shed construction area and repaired a 300 meters long green net fencing and banners along a tree plantation area. It stated that the DGCAA has already constructed twin main gates in commemoration of its Golden Jubilee, and is successfully running a College Canteen to meet the physical and economic needs of the students. 


“The Alumni association is also constructing a Waiting Shed cum Canteen with its own resources. It is expected to be completed by the month of November 2019,” it added.


 The release also asserted that this was the second social work programme organized by the Alumni Association this year. The first one was organized on June 5, in commemoration of the World Environment Day. The Organization also organized a Seminar on Climate Change in the month of May 2019, it added.
