Free medical camp at Woodland Nursing Home conducted
Mokokchung, February 16 (MExN): More than 90 patients were screened for Diabetes, Neuropathy detection and micro-albuminuria test during a free medical camp held at Woodland Nursing Home, some 5 kilometers away from Mokokchung Town on February 15 last.
A physician from the hospital informed that 40 percent of the patients were found to have Diabetes between the age group of 40-70 year olds. He added that during micro-albuminuria test, 80% of the patients were detected positive while Neuropathy detection reached to 90 percent (mild to severe) among the patients.
The Doctor also informed that the medical clinic was conducted successfully with the support from a specialist along with machines and manpower provided by Fourrts Company. He also asserted that such health issues are caused by our lifestyle and food habits.
The Doctor further said that the Hospital plans to conduct free medical camp after every three months because health problem such as Diabetes and Neuro etc has become prevalent these days. And at the same time to spread awareness about such health issues to the mass, he said.
Mention may be made that Woodland Nursing Home is the first private hospital in Mokokchung started by Dr JT Walling during 1970s' to cater to the needs of medical care for both Mokokchung and neighboring Districts. The Nursing Home has been catering services to patients for more than 40 years now.
