Digi Dimapur: Campaign to promote digital payment

Dimapur, February 24 (MExN): Dimapur district administration has adopted Thahekhu village to make it the first cashless village in Nagaland. The adoption is part of the first phase of ‘Digi Dimapur’, a campaign of Dimapur district administration launched with an objective of popularizing and promoting digital payment system.  

The district administration, according to a press release from Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, during the campaign will coordinate the activities of various agencies like banks and government offices to launch awareness campaigns and digital drives to enable more transaction in digital mode.  

The schemes of union government like the Lucky Grahak Yojana, Digi Dhan Vyapari Yojana will be popularized so that people may take advantage of the same by making digital payments, the release added.  

Stating that all the government offices and utilities beginning with the DC’s office will be going cashless in a time bound manner, the press release informed that for the under banked sections, special account opening sessions will be held leveraging the Jan Dhan Yojana. All the bank account holders will be given ATM/Rupay cards and mobile banking facilities, it added.  

The Dimapur district administration has urged all the citizens to actively participate in the ‘Digi Dimapur’ campaign.
