The second edition of the two-day Dimapur Music Festival (DMF) organized by LiveNow Events will kick off Friday evening (September 20) at Urban Haat with 15 local bands, a school and artistes lined up to entertain music lovers and fans with different genres of music.


This was announced by LiveNow Events team Burakum Ao (secretary), Akhito and Menuolhoulie in a press conference Wednesday afternoon here at Hotel Saramati.


According to the organizers, the main objective of this year’s DMF titled “The happy fest” is to promote local musicians, showcase their talents and also give a much needed break to Dimapurians to listen to good music in an ambient environment.  


This year’s DMF is also unique in that on the first day, the frontman of all the participating bands are males while on the second night, females vocalists will lead their bands onstage.


Bands and solo artistes who will be performing on September 20 include The Paradigm Shift, Since 90’s, Jam Tree, Avancer, Papersky, Chicken Head, Moko Koza and Ina. 


Christian Higher Secondary School band, the runner-up of this year’s Dimapur district inter-school beat contest will also perform on the opening night. 


The second night will feature Tokaholi, The Teaspoon Project, Trance Effect, Purple Fusion, Run Monday Run, Ronnie and Aloza


There are two categories of tickets: Rs. 200 (single entry per day) and Season Ticket costing Rs. 1500 (entry for two persons for two days along with car pass).


Another attraction of the event powered by powered by TaFMA, will be the foodstalls with arrays of dishes and cuisines to cater to the taste buds of all age group, the organizers informed.


Some members of the local bands who also attended the press conference said they were excited as they would be performing for the first time in a music festival in the state.
