Dimapur ready to host Hornbill International Music Festival

The annual Hornbill International Music Festival 2017 will be held from December 1 – 10 at Dimapur. The first two days of the festival is being managed by Concord Linx and will be held at DDSC Stadium Dimapur.  

Highlighting about the sequence of events to media persons at NER Agri Expo Site, 4th Mile Dimapur on Thursday, the organizers said Kailash Kher, Surfira band, Alobo Naga and students of four music schools would be performing on December 1 while Shari Yadav winner of Stage 2, 2016, Abhishek Gurung, finalist of Stage 2, 2016 and other local bands would be performing on the second day. Entry is free on the first day while for the second day, Rs 50 per head has been fixed for general entry. On both the days, seats would be available at the front at the price of Rs 500. Tickets would available at Crescendo and PK Travels.  

The music festival from December 3-10 would be held at NER Agri Expo Site, 4th Mile Dimapur to be managed by Live Now.  

December 3 being a Sunday, the organized have named the day as ‘Praise Sunday’ where Kenny and the Faith Band, Jack Pucho and the Warehouse Band, Tali Angh and others would be performing. December 4 event has been titled as ‘Nagaland Unboxed’ and would see performances by Swevens, The Gluttones, Incipit, Lords of Rock etc.  

The Rock Contest would be held from December 5-8 and would be judged by Uday Benegal, vocalist of Indus Creed, Soumini Sridhara Paul, Vice President of Hungama Music and Mhaseve Tetseo. The winner of the contest will receive a cash money of Rs 10 lakh while the second and third would get Rs 5 lakh and Rs 3.5 lakh respectively.  

The organizers have thanked the Diphupar youth for their support towards the event. They also appealed the Government to fill the potholes at various locations inside the Expo site.  

Tickets for the music festival at Expo site has been fixed at Rs 100 per day and would be available at the venue.
