Diphupar ‘B’ adopts Model Rules

Dimapur, July 18 (MExN): The Diphupar ‘B’ Village with the aims and objectives to unite “every Naga tribe having different customs and culture practices of their own” inhabiting in the Village adopted the Diphupar ‘B’ Model Rules 2011. The rule was adopted and enacted to supplement the Nagaland Village Council Act 1978, Village Development Board model rules, 1980 and Nagaland Communitisation of public institutions and services Act 2002.  “On this day, the 16th of July at the public general meeting which is the first of its kind in a multi-Naga inhabited village to be adopted and enforced,” stated a press release issued by Diphupar ‘B’ Village Council,Head GB cum Chairman, LP Therie and secretary N. Alem GB. The Diphupar ‘B’ Village public general meeting was held on July 16 at 10:00 am at the Council Hall, Compound which was attended by more than 600 villagers and senior citizens. The meeting was held under the sessional chairmanship of O Mayang Jamir and sessional secretary Anito Shohe.
The Model Rules drafting committee was headed by B. Peniang as convener with members including Keve Nuh, Lhouchalie Metha GB, R Toshi Lkr, Santsu Kithan, Kiyeshe Zhimomi, LP Therie Head GB, ex-officio.
