Director General of Assam Rifles visits Nagaland

Dimapur, February 10 (MExN): Director General of Assam Rifles, Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, PVSM, AVSM, SM, accompanied by Shabnam Singh, president of Assam Rifles Wives Welfare Association visited Headquarters, Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) during his two-day visit from February 10 to 11. During his stay in Nagaland, the DGAR called upon Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, and also reviewed the operational preparedness of the Assam Rifles in Nagaland.

The Director General of Assam Rifles was briefed on the prevailing security situation in the State, including employment of Assam Rifles and other security forces and the co-ordination between all organs of the government. The Director General stressed on the need for synergy of effort at all levels and commended all Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers and Jawans for their untiring efforts towards ensuring peace and tranquility in the State. He was highly appreciative of the cooperation being extended by the Civil Administration, NGOs and the Church to the security forces and assisting the Assam Rifles in discharging their duties, sated a press release from Assam Rifles.
