District monitoring team tours Tobu

Mon, April 16 (MExN): The District Programme Management Unit (DPMU) of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) under Mon district embarked on its first phase of Monitoring & Evaluation (M & E) tour to Tobu Block on April 11 to 14, 2011. During the four day tour of the block, the team visited health units, with particular emphasis on the Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and interacted with village leaders, medical staff, student leaders and village health committee members.
Besides inspecting the existing infrastructure in the health units, the NRHM team examined the reporting system, medicines and equipments supply service delivery and attendance of medical staff. In-depth discussions were held with the village leaders on their role in improving the health service delivery system and the methods of checks and balances of powers among the VHC members, staff and the village council.
The M&E team also inaugurated the new building of Shamnyu Sub Centre constructed under RCH programme of NRHM with a short prayer by the village pastor.  The health units visited by the team during the said tour were Mopong PHC, Ukha SC, Changlangshu PHC,  Pessao PHC, Muknyakshu SC, Yongkao PHC, Tamkoang SC, Shamnyu SC, Tobu CHC, Changlang SC, Angphang PHC and Choakha Chingnyu SC.
