DLSAs conduct various activities

Dimapur, April 22 (MExN): Representing the Dimapur District Legal Services Authority (DDLSA), Limasenla Longkumer, Legal Aid Counsel cum Trainer spoke at a leadership skill development programme at Aoyimkum Baptist Church on April 22.  

She spoke on various topics covering women and child rights – Domestic Violence Act, Trafficking, Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act, POCSO Act, Juvenile Justice Act – and powers and duties of Village Council under the Nagaland Village Council Act. She also explained on Child Labour Act and importance of Village Level Child Protection Committee, informed a press release from Nagaland State Legal Services Authority.  

The programme was attended by Aoyimkum pastors, deacon board, youth department, women organization, Sunday school teachers, village council and other church members.

  In Phek, the Phek District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) as part of the action plan conducted legal awareness programme at Sohomi village and created awareness through hoardings in Phek Town on April 21.   During the awareness programme, Longshithung Ezung, District and Sessions Judge and Chairman PDLSA spoke on Lok Adalat, function of legal service, Village Council Act and Motor Accident Claim Tribunal.  

Kenineguno Swuro, Panel Lawyer, PDLSA spoke on Domestic Violence Act and Consumer Protection Act. The programme was chaired by Mamang Singson, Retainer Lawyer, PDLSA.  

Meanwhile, the Para Legal Volunteers of PDLSA put up hoardings in public places of Phek Town to spread awareness on Free and Competent Legal Aid by Nagaland State Legal Services Authority, harmful effects of tobacco etc.
