DLSC Pughoboto meets political parties for rationalization of polling stations

PUGHOBOTO, September 5 (DIPR): District Level Standing Committee (DLSC) meeting for rationalization of polling stations under 13-Pughoboto Assembly Constituency, with different political parties was held at the ADC & DEO Pughoboto office chamber on September 5. ADC & DEO, Avelu Ruho chairing the meeting informed the party functionaries to appoint one Booth Level Assistant (BLAs) in each polling station to facilitate the government appointed officials.

In this regard Booth Level Assistants ID form was issued with direction to submit the same before the scheduled BLOs training on 18thSeptember, 2017. He said that all genuine cases will be taken up at all polling stations during the revision, which will to begin on October 1, 2017.

For smooth and peaceful conduct of elections in all 24 villages (33 polling stations) under Pughoboto Division, the representatives agreed for changes in nomenclature of Polling Stations, (on account of the bifurcation/upgradation of schools, old building to new buildings) for security reasons and other facilities.

The Deputy Commissioner apprised of the punishment Section 135-A of Representation of People Act, 1951 provides in case of ‘offence of booth capturing’. She also reminded the representatives to educate the villagers on punishments for offences under relevant laws provided by the Election Commission of India. SDO (C)ERO, Chonpenthung Ezung and EAC, Gathashi Nuhuta spoke on the importance of Special Summary Revision, E-Roll and others in the meeting.
