The 5th Inter-School Music Fest 2019 organised by Delhi Public School, Dimapur in order to encourage, enhance and foster high level of musical expertise was held on June 12. The participating schools were, El-Shaddai Academy, Hope Academy, The Maple Tree School, Christina Memorial School, Eastern Academy and the host school.
Delhi Public School choir emerged as the winning team and also earned the rolling trophy for winning the competition for the 3rd time consecutively. The Maple Tree and Hope Academy won the 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
The event being an open genre competition, the participating teams performed an interesting repertoire of spiritual, musical and hymn arrangement, displaying their musical professionalism and versatility as singers and musicians.
Kavili Jakhalu, Principal of Dimapur Government College graced the occasion as the chief guest and in her address she talked about the pervasive influence of music, the 3Cs of creativity, communication and co-operation. The judges for the competition were Asin Shurhozelie, Founding Director of RS Academia, Kevi Niebulie Kiso, Managing Director of The Jam Tree Music Institute, Vizho Thakro, Music Director, Town Baptist Church Dimapur.
