DPS Dimapur celebrates annual day cum award ceremony 

DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 14 (MExN): The Delhi Public School Dimapur celebrated its Annual Day-cum-Award Giving Away Ceremony 2019 on December 13 at the school grounds.

Dr SC Jamir, former Chief Minister of Nagaland, and former Governor of Maharashtra, Goa & Odisha graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. 

In his speech, Dr SC Jamir stressed on the importance of education, as the most important institution for social, economic and political transformation of a society. Citing that nation building process takes its form and momentum in the educational institution itself, he encouraged the teachers to emulate the example of inspiring teachers to prepare youths who are educated & capable, with skills and intellectual capacity to meet various needs and requirements for developing the nation. 

Addressing the gathering of intellectuals and working professionals especially the Naga parents, he implored upon the need to create an environment whereby a new Naga polity sanctified with honesty, sincerity and with commitments can be built.

Displaying the wide spectrum of new experiences and learning that have taken place in the school, the Annual Day celebration proved to be the acme of excellence of all academic and co-scholastic endeavours of DPS Dimapur. Dr. Aotoshi, Pro Vice Chairman of the school delivered the welcome speech and BK Nanda, Principal read out the Annual School report.

Besides the cultural presentations, various awards and trophies were given away: Marker Cup, Scholar Badge & Scholar Blazer for academic proficiency; Mementos for 100% attendance, Overall Champion House Trophy for Dikhu House; Choir Blazer for students who won the Inter DPS Western Vocal Music Festival 2019.

Jadenna Jamir of Class 2 received the 1st Chairman’s Cup for 100% attendance in a row for 3 years. ANSA SAM of Class XII (Science) was also given the award for ‘Best Student of the Year 2018-19’.
