Dimapur, November 12 (MExN): The Dimapur Sumi Baptist Church (DSBC) Youth Ministry celebrated its Golden Jubilee on November 11 with the theme ‘For His Faithfulness’ chaired by Hokhuli Kiba and recorded by Kiyekhe Awomi.
The first youth leader of the church Luvukhu Achumi shared his jubilee greetings to the congregation. The Jubilee souvenir was opened by Rev S Vitoshe Swu, senior pastor DSBC. He also exhorted the congregation and told them to be truthful to God and reflect upon the past if we have done any wrongs in the eyes of God and to seek God’s forgiveness. He also prayed for the Jubilee blessings. The sermon was delivered by Khevili Aye, Associate Pastor of Lhomithi Baptist Church.
Former youth leaders and youth pastors of the church also attended the celebration. The DSBC Drama Team gave a special performance depicting the valor, honesty and gallantry of our forefathers. The jubilee flag was carried by Jonah Achumi, member of jubilee planning committee. A special recitation dedicated to the youths was recited by Ninoli Muru. Special numbers were presented by the Youth Choir and Elikana and group.
The evening service was compered by Khekato Achumi and Shivili and recorded by Vinokali Swu. Offertory prayer was said by Akheto, deacon of youth affairs. There was a slide show on ‘Reminiscing the Past’ followed by special numbers from male voice, exhortation and prayer by Youth Pastor Vitoli Zhimomi, melody by jubilee committee members, drama, choreography and closing ceremony by different sectors.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Khenito Kiho, convener of the planning committee while benediction was done by Hokito Swu, Associate Pastor of the church. A sumptuous feast was given as a mark of sharing the blessings of the jubilee.
