Dimapur, February 14 (MExN): The Dimapur Sümi Students' Union (DSSU) “is appalled to learn that there has been large scale illegal appointment in the home department.”
“At a time when the state is reeling under unemployment, the recent news has startled everyone, particularly the educated unemployed youth,” said a press statement from DSSU General Secretary, Vitopu Ayemi
DSSU raised objection “with regard to the appointment of 1135 fresh recruits when only 208 posts were advertised and appointments made accordingly through open recruitment rally.”
Making clear that the Union has no malice towards anyone, however asserted that it “cannot remain taciturn when the deserving candidates are deprived of opportunities because of rampant backdoor appointment.”
Meanwhile, the DSSU appreciated Naga Tribal Union Chümoukedima Town (NTUCT) “for bringing out the facts to light” and assured its support for a just cause. The union called upon the concerned department to make its stand clear on the issue at the earliest. DSSU will go to any extent to ensure that justice is delivered to the deserving youth, it said.
