Eastern Christian College celebrate 25 yrs

Eastern Christian College (ECC) celebrated its silver jubilee on Friday with “Ignite the rays of faith, hope and love” as the theme and controller of examination, Nagaland University, Dr. Abemo, gracing the event as chief guest.  

The chief guest in his address acknowledged the founder of the college, Temsu Longkumer, and pioneers for establishing the college with a vision or mission to not only mould individual students but society at large by imparting quality education. 

Dr. Abemo said the celebration should serve as a reminder to the objective on which the college was founded and that it is the duty of the college family, especially students to keep alive the mission.  

He also said in today’s world where knowledge is power, it is imperative to impart quality education. Even as teachers strive to impart quality education, the NU official reminded that as students, their priority is to study and excel in academics. Underscoring discipline as quality every student should possess, Abemo said a student without discipline will never succeed in his academic career or life. He further exhorted the students to have good moral character, be attentive and hard working to fulfill their goals.  

The chief guest also released the jubilee souvenir.  

Rev. Kilang Jamir, founder and director, Youth Harvest Ministry, also shared the Word of God and pronounced thanksgiving. Principal, ECC, Sivichan T Joseph, in his keynote address shared some of the memorable experiences he faced serving as the principal for the past 22 years. Vice chairman, ECC, Ajungla Lkr, and assistant professor (Pol Sc. Department), Athikho Yimchunger, also delivered jubilee greetings on the occasion. Earlier, vice principal, ECC, Atila Imchen, gave the welcome address. Students of ECC presented special numbers and other entertainment items.
