Election observers hold meeting in different districts

Kiphire/Mokokchung/Wokha, February 11 (DIPR): General and Police Observers for the ensuing Nagaland general election held meetings in different districts of the state recently.  

Kiphire: In Kiphire district, General Observer for 59 Seyochung-Sitimi and 60 Pungro-Kiphire Assembly Constituencies, Dheeraj Kumar, IAS, and Police Observer for both the constituencies, Satheesh Kumar N, IPS, along with DC & DEO Kiphire, Mohammad Ali Shahib, IAS, reviewed the poll preparedness in the district headquarter on February 8. They inspected the Control Room, Strong Room, Election Office, MCMC Room, Transport Cell and Election Expenditure Monitoring Cell.  

During their visit, the observers interacted with the concerned nodal officers and the members of various committees. They also visited the office of both the Returning Officers of the A/Cs respectively and interacted with them.  

Mokokchung: General Observer for 28, 29 & 30 Assembly Constituencies under Mokokchung district, JM Pathania, IAS, had a meeting with the security personnel, EEM team, Flying Squad team and the Static Surveillance team of 29 Jangpetkong and 30 Alongtaki Assembly Constituencies on February 10 at the Dobashi conference hall, Mangkolemba.

During the meeting, the observer apprised the member of the various teams and the security personnel to discharge their respective duties in a polite and tactful manner so as to ensure free and fair election.  

ADC Mangkolemba & Returning Officer of 30 Alongtaki A/C, who also spoke at the meeting, sought cooperation and activeness from the security forces and the various teams and urged them to discharge their duties in a polite and serious approach for successful conduct of the election.  

EAC Kedale Sebu also briefed on the roles and guidelines of the various teams. The meeting was chaired by SDO Civil, Mangkolemba, Chonpen Ezung.  

Wokha: General Observer for 37 Tyui and 38 Wokha Assembly Constituencies, Man Mohan Chaudhary, IAS, and Police Observer for Wokha district, Sunil Kumar held a meeting with the Returning Officers, Assistant Returning Officers, and Sector Magistrates on February 9 at Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall, Wokha.  

The observer asked the officers to keep strict vigil on every suspected area which may have negative impact and to immediately inform authority concerned so that timely action can be taken.  

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer of Wokha, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon, IAS, who also attended the meeting, informed that General Observer will be available for public interview from 9:30 am to 10:00 am at DC office except on public holidays.
