‘Emporium’, a training centre for Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY) was inaugurated by advisor, Labour & Employment, Skill Development and CAWD, Kazheto Kinimi at Half Nagarjan, near GHSS, on Tuesday.
The training centre run by Emporium Training & Consultancy Private Limited is funded by the state Labour & Employment under the national flagship PMKVY programme.
Commissioner & secretary, Government of Nagaland, Amenla T Sato, said as per the PMKVY guidelines, Nagaland has to train 33,000 youths by 2020, or 11,000 youths yearly starting 2018. This, she said, was a huge task for the L&E department as well as the training provider. She however expressed optimism that the target would be achieved and that Naga youth would be benefitted from the flagship programme. In the present global scenario, no country can prosper without skilling its workforce, she noted.
Operations manager, Emporium, Anirban Mukherjee, said Emporium Training & Consultancy Private Limited, founded in 2007, has been providing training to youth in the aviation and hospitality sectors since 2010. Presently, Emporium has training centres in 13 states and trained more than 35,000 youths including 1,500 from Nagaland over the past five years, he informed.
Anirban mentioned that Emporium would be imparting training to 220 youths in aviation and hospitality every three months. He also informed that the training would be free of cost including registration and admission.
Earlier, centre director, Emporium Dimapur, Temjenkala Aier, delivered welcome address.
Among others, director, L&E, YV Lotha and director, Emporium Training & Consultancy Pvt. Ltd., Manish Sood, attended the launching event.
