En Punto Corporation installs cold storage

Kohima | August 13 : En Punto Corporation (Frozen Division) has installed a cold storage project here this morning at Ruliezou for the purpose of providing hygienic certified meat produces to the consumers in Nagaland.
This company, owned by Khriehu Liezietsu and Panshok Luikam, has installed a cold storage with the capacity of 30 tons initially, which was formally inaugurated by L. Kire, commissioner & secretary to Chief Minister, who is also the commissioner and secretary of power. The Company aims to upgrade the cold storage capacity upto 60 tons shortly.
Speaking on the occasion, Kire, termed the project as a step in the right direction in bringing quality food for the people of the state. Stating that the state’s department of veterinary & animal husbandry is embarking kicking start such project in the state, he congratulated the Company for starting such project, which he said, would also encourage other entrepreneurs to take up such venture.
Cold storage for hygienic certified meat produces now in Kohima
The company will begin marketing the products initially from Kohima, then expand to Dimapur by installing another 90 tons cold storage at the commercial hub within 3 months. After the completion of the Ist phase of the company, it also plan to import meat processing equipments from abroad for production of Sausages Ham, Salami, Bacon, Spare Ribs, Smoked Pork etc. with Naga flavor and taste and production beginning possibly by early next year. After 2 months, chicken, beef, fish will also be marketed from all its franchised outlets in the state. The plan of the company is not only concentrate on sales within the state but also to export to all the major cities and abroad. The Company will identify the villages for breeding of good breed pigglings, and pigglings will be supplied by the company, so that ultimately import of carcasses is minimized, and thereby provide source of income for the small scale breeding farms in the state with the policy of buy back their pigs on maturity.
All other assistance and insurance will be covered by the company for securing the best possible protection of pigs, the Company said. It also stated that with franchises of over 100 outlets spread all over Nagaland it shall be generating employment opportunities to more than 300 youths. The company will also be having employees of not less than 80 once the production begins and not forgetting the small scale farmers who will benefit by breeding pigs in their villages too.
