ENCSU warns of resuming agitation on scholarship funds misuse issue

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 18 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland College Students' Union (ENCSU) has accused the Nagaland Government and the concerned Department for concealing the SIT report from public view even after 14 months since the report has been handed over.

The SIT was constituted to probe on the alleged misuse of scholarship funds by officials of the Department of Higher Education.

While reiterating its earlier demand to reveal the SIT report in public domain, the ENCSU has questioned the government for trying to protect those involved in the misuse of the scholarship money meant for the students.

The ENCSU also wanted to know as to why the government cannot come out clear with the SIT report even after the government had admitted during the cabinet meeting that the PMS fund has been misused by the department.

While vowing that it will not compromise nor stay silent, the ENCSU has warned that it would initiate own course of action if the government fails to meet their demands.

In this connection, the ENCSU has announced that it is planning to resume the agitation which was kept in abeyance on December 7, 2017 after receiving a kind assurance from the government.

It has therefore directed all the students from Eastern Nagaland to be mentally and physically prepared to fight for justice and right.
