English dept of St. Joseph's College Jakhama celebrates silver jubilee

Kohima, November 21(MExN): The Department of English, St. Joseph's College (Autonomous) Jakhama celebrated its silver jubilee on November 20 at college indoor stadium under the theme “Reminiscing the past envisaging better future.”


Speaking on the occasion as guest speaker, N Jacob Yanthan, Joint Director Agriculture said that that jubilee is a time for celebration, thanksgiving and retrospection.


He encouraged the students to uphold hard work, honesty and courage. He said the students and youths of today are the citizen of tomorrow and hope of future leaders. He called upon each and every student to realize their responsibility and lay strong foundation of their character and personality to display intellectual maturity and discretion in any given situation they do.


Yanthan also called upon the students to work hard towards achievement of academic excellence and to build a just and healthy society. He said silver Jubilee is also an occasion to give thanks to the Lord for His manifold blessings in the past and to ask more graces for the challenging future.


Rev Fr Dr George Keduolhou Angami, vice-principal SJC Jakhama said that knowledge is important and has a purpose to achieve. He urged the students to aim high and achieve their goals as knowledge has no limit.
Earlier, jubilee blessing was delivered by RevFr Neisalhou Carolus Kuotsu.
