ENSF Fiesta celebrates cultural nite

Mon, July 27 (DIPR): 6th ENSF Fiesta celebrated its cultural nite on July 26 at Local Ground Mon with Parliamentary Secretary for Art &Culture, Eshak Konyak as the chief guest, Ato Luwang Chief Angh Tangnyu village as the guest of honour and Dr. Anungla Imdong Phom, Joint Director, DUDA as the special guest.  

Speaking on the occasion the chief guest said that there isa purpose in the gathering and the purpose is for the upliftment of people. He called upon the ENSF to learn to forgive and forget, love and share as they celebrate their culture and urged the EN people to be hardworking to overcome all the challenges ahead of them as they celebrate its culture. He appealed to the people to think twice before taking any major decisions and to co-operate with one another.   The special guest in her speech reminded the ENSF that EN people are second to none. They may be backward in development but not in mentality, she said and called upon the EN to have no marginalisation among the EN but to celebrate dialects, folk stories, folk songs, cultural colours which is there at hand with the celebration of ethnic colours. She urged the ENSF to be always bold to speak the truth and be blessed.  

Chief Angh Tangnyu village Ato Luwang invoked blessings for the ENSF, Achemba K. Sangtam Social &Cultural Secretary ENSF gave the introductory note and toxicpeace band presented a special song.

6th ENSF fiesta sports underway

The 6th ENSF fiesta sports got underway on July 26 at Local Ground Mon under the theme 'Battle for Peace' which was flagged off by Parliamentary Secretary for Municipal Affairs Economics & Statistic, R. Tohanba as the chief guest, MLA Pangnyu Phom as the guest of honour and Y.P.Chillio, former ENSF President as the special guest.  

Speaking on the occasion the chief guest congratulated the ENSF officials for coining the theme 'Battle for Peace' which he said is very vibrant and fitting. He urged the ENSF to solve all the misunderstandings and internal disunity among the unit federations during the 6thENSF Fiesta. He said that sports play a vital role in moral development and physical well being and urged the players not to hurt others in all aspects while playing and to protect other's rights and feelings. He wished the ENSF fiesta sports a grand success.  

The guest of honour in his speech emphasized on peace and unity among the people and urged the ENSF to avoid all kinds of tribalism. Unless we feel oneness and dedicate ourselves it will be hard to unite and be in peace, he said. He appealed to the ENSF to speak the truth and have the vision to educate the EN people as peace reformation can be brought about only by the students' association.  

The special guest, Y.P.Chillio in his exhortation said that peace should be cultivated as lack of peace and prevailing jealousy will hamper the education and unity of EN people. He asked the ENSF to retrospect and urged upon all units to be united.  

The programme was chaired by Topongchuba Chang Assistant General Secretary, ENSF. Introductory note was delivered by L. Tonen Chang, Games & Sports Secretary ENSF with special song by the Khiamniungan Students' Union.
