ENSF to restrain from DoSE Math & Science teacher exam

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 19 (MExN): The Easter Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has decided to restrain from participating in Departmental Examination for Maths and Science Teacher (GTs) under the School Education Department which is scheduled to be held on September 25.

A press note from the ENSF took strong exception to the “adamant attitude of the Department of School Education (DoSE),” and lamented that despite several representation and appeals, the department “chose to ignore the genuine demands of the federation.”

It said that the department has violated the government notification No.EDS/-7/2008 dated, Kohima, the 9th January 2009, “thus consequently prejudicing the interest and rights of the Eastern Nagas.”

It therefore asked all eastern bonafide aspirants to restrain from taking part in the said examination till further notice. The Federation also asked the department not to make any single appointment against the posts “which rightfully belongs to the Eastern Nagas (viz Phom/Konyak/Chang/ Khiamuniungan/Sangtam & Yimchunger.)”

The ESNF said it would not shy away to “protect and safeguard the rights of Eastern Nagaland and will fight till justice has been delivered.”

Meanwhile, it cautioned that if any untoward situation arises during the process which will victimize the careers of the aspirants and the interests of Eastern Nagaland, the department will be held solely responsible.
