Parliamentary Secretary for Justice & Law, Er. Picto Shohe has called on Kukamis (GBs) of Aqahuto area under Dimapur district to be true to their titles and execute responsibilities sincerely and faithfully.
He was speaking as the chief guest during the 9th General Conference of Aqahuto Tokukujo Kukami Kuqhakulu (ATKK- Aqahuto Area GB’s Union) at Daniel Village on Thursday.
Er. Picto also told the GBs that besides their social responsibilities they have to be faithful fathers at home from where positive change should start. Quoting a saying, “A faithful father makes a good family,” Er. Picto said once they first become faithful and sincere fathers at home, their social responsibilities could also be shouldered similarly.
Er. Picto who is also an Akukau (GB) of Shikavi village in Aqahuto area pointed out the absence of a specific headquarter for the area owing to which many developmental works was not reaching them. In this regard, he called upon all sections of the society in the area to be united and work towards achieving a common goal.
Speaker for the programme, Dr. L.K. Achumi, retired District & Sessions Judge, Dimapur stressed on the need to take decisions based on collective wisdom for the betterment of society. He encouraged the GBs to be well versed with the Sumi traditions, culture and customary laws.
Former minister, Kihoto Hollohon and ex-MLA Azheto Zhimomi also addressed the gathering.
