EROs & AEROs to impart special summary revision training

Kohima, November 7 (DIPR): Training on EROs & AEROs on special drive was held on November 6 at DC’s Conference Hall, Kohima.  

CEO, Nagaland, Abhijit Sinha in his opening address stated that this special drive is held for empowerment in electoral rolls and enrolment of all eligible citizens during the Special Summary Revision, 2018 by collection of electoral information by the Booth Level Officers through house to house visit with thrust on enrolment of every eligible citizen. He added that the period of special drive will start from November 15 to November 30 and maintained that the main objectives of the special drive is to maximize registration of all eligible electoral and to remove entries of dead and permanently shifted electors. He informed that one of the main focuses is to obtain family details, contact details, GIS coordinate with smart phone to provide better electoral services and to identify oversees Indians in the electoral roll living abroad.  

CEO urged the BLO verification of forms received during SSR, 2018 in an objective way, and called upon all the EROs and AEROs to obtain information about existing polling stations, Mapping Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) status, and electors’ observation on existing polling station. He also suggested on alternate polling station, identifying mapping and ranking of at least three alternative suitable buildings to be arranged in case the building is not found suitable, and update the details of post office in the polling area.  

Additional Chief Electoral Officer, N. Moa Aier encouraged BLO Supervisors and BLOs to use android mobile phones for data collection, and informed that five assembly constituencies in the state have already been identified to implement as pilot mobile based booth level ER management (BLO Net) and a proof data collection. He apprised that the training on the use of mobile based booth level ER management (BLO Net) to all Booth Level Supervisors and BLOs using the mobile app is being held from 3rd November to 10th November, 2017.  

He called upon the officers to have meeting from time to time with political parties and inform them of the objectives and expected benefits of special drive besides seeking their suggestions and cooperation for successful execution of the special drive. AEO, Peren Nathan shared the activities which were undertaken during special drive.  

Programmer, CEO’s office, Kitoka, DIO Kohima, J.G Lorin and DIO Mokokchung, Er. Temsuwati Ao spoke on the modes of data collection and mobile apps. AEO Dimapur, Roland Merry explained about the various formats involved.
