Ex Parliamentarians Association Nagaland call for Naga solution without delay

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 13 (MExN): The Ex-Parliamentarians Association Nagaland has urged the negotiating parties in the Indo-Naga political process to be “serious and focused,” while calling for a solution without any delay.

This was declared during a meeting in Dimapur on October 11, informed a press release from sessional chairman, Nilo Rengma and sessional secretary, Joshua Achumi. The meeting was held to review the prevailing political situation under which the Nagas are passing through.  “The time schedule set by the Government of India that within three months the negotiations have to be brought to its logical end implies that the GoI is committed. The Naga negotiators therefore must not miss this opportunity by inducting excuses but they are expected to be determinant,” it stated.

The press release reminded that Nagas in the past failed to seize the “better situation to our advantage and due to which we had to suffer immeasurably. Such myopia must not be repeated this time around.”

It informed that the meeting resolved to urge particularly the Naga negotiators to resolutely go for solution within the time frame.

“Whatever the negotiators may consider it to be the issues of contention may have to be pursued post solution because of the fact that when such issues are allowed to form the stumbling block, the ultimate result will be regret only,” it added.

The house urged all parties to be bold enough to conclude the dialogue without any delay.
