Dimapur, February 13 (MExN): The Dimapur Ao Baptist Pastor’s Fellowship (DAABPF) has called upon all the believers to exercise their fundamental rights with “fear of God, with love for their land and people and cleanly barred from indulging in all types of corruptions.”
The DAABPF, in a press note issued by its President, Rev. Zülu and Secretary Rev. Dr. Temjen cautioned all the believers that India has been experiencing the highest persecution in these recent years. There are churches being vandalized and burnt, Holy Bibles are burnt, Pastors, evangelist, missionaries and believers of Christ are harassed, beaten, insulted and made to suffer even to the extent of killing. “Therefore, call upon believers that we should emphatically denounce these activities and avoid cooperating with them in any way,” it stated.
The DAABPF also during its meeting held on February 12 in Dimapur resolved to organize mass prayer in every worship in all the local churches for election; sincerely participate in prayer when church bell ring at 6:00 am and to organises a prayer and fasting programme at an appropriate time for which date will be announced from the Office.
Meanwhile, it has appreciated the bold steps taken by Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho, General Secretary NBCC, Rev. Dr. Mar Atsongchanger, Executive Secretary, ABAM and N. Lipok Jamir, President ABPF which appeared in local dailies calling upon the political parties not to surrender the Christian principles and faith that enabled the Nagas to make known in the global community.
