MOKOKCHUNG, SEPTEMBER 9 (MExN): The 59th Foundation Day of Fazl Ali College was observed in the college on September 8 with Dr I Anungla Aier, Additional Director, Higher Education as the special guest.
In her address to the students and faculty, she exhorted all to live up to the college's motto ‘Academia Nulli Secondus (Second to None Academically)’ and also presented a copy of her latest book ‘Studies on Naga Oral Traditions.’
The Foundation Day was the culmination of the September Melange 1, 2018, a three day Creative Arts Festival incorporating debates, song competitions, performance poetry and dance competition, short story writing and painting in addition to creative recycling (Upcycle), exhibits of works of art and staging of plays. Academic toppers were also felicitated through the presentation of various awards.
I. Alila Mongro (B.A.) was awarded the Chubainla Academic Award for having graduated in 2018 with the highest CGPA of 6.2. Akumsenla (B.A.) and Senainla (B.Sc) were awarded the Dr Longrizung Award for Academic Excellence. Senainla (B.Sc) was given the EU Student of the Year Award, instituted by Kuholi Chishi, Director, Higher Education. Senainla (B.Sc.) was awarded the Linnaeus Award for the highest score in Botany. Sentirenla (B.Sc) was awarded the University Subject Topper in Mathematics with CGPA of 6.01. And finally, Sakurepla Longkumer and Tanghiu were awarded the University Subject Toppers in Geography with CGPA of 5.53.
