Peren, November 8 (MExN): The Nagaland State Cooperative Bank Ltd. organized financial literacy awareness on cooperatives in association with ARCS Peren at Jalukie on November 7.
The programme was chaired by Thenuvisa Luho, Sr Manager. Welcome & Keynote address was delivered by N Ramwang Chewang, DGM (Cr and Rvy), Zomdi Damta, Board Director for Peren District in his address spoke about having good relationship with Bank by way of deposits and recovery of Bank loan in time. He urged the Cooperative Societies to revive themselves into a profit making societies and avail various scheme available with Government.
Bisinle, ARCS, Peren District spoke about Cooperative Movement in Nagaland, Cluster farming, organic farming, etc. She also advise the Cooperative Societies to maintain proper books of Accounts, for which the department is providing various training at CTC Medziphema. She also encourages having one Village one Cooperative Society for better coverage and to uplift the rural people enabling to have a feeling of self-reliance which is the basic importance of cooperatives in the true spirit.
VK Disong, Manager (FIC), spoke about obligatory of Cooperative Societies, how the societies should maintain their books of accounts, mandatory and importance of holding annual general meeting to be followed by the Cooperative Societies. Therefore he urged the societies to revive themselves into a profit making societies.
