Fishmonger killing: TYO, NAYO appeal for justice

Kohima, September 13 (MExN): The Tsieramia Youth Organization (TYO), L. Khel Kohima Village has condemned the killing of Pradeep Mahato, a fishmonger in Kohima Town, on September 9 by unknown person(s). The organization in a statement urged the administration and law enforcing agencies to make all efforts and bring the culprit(s) to book at any cost. TYO further appealed to all to refrain from such an “inhuman and barbaric” act within the area, adding it will not be tolerated any longer. The statement from TYO president, Neirükuolie Yhome and general secretary, Vitshu Vizo asserted that those doing the same will be considered as "intruder" and the organization will take severe action and not remain silent spectator on criminal activities in its area “which is defaming the peaceful and good image of the village.” Further, TYO conveyed condolence to the bereaved family and prayed to God to grant them courage to withstand the grief and sorrow.   The Northern Angami Youth Organisation (NAYO) has meanwhile conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family members of late Pradeep Mahato. While condemning the killing, the organisation appealed to the authority in concern to investigate the matter and deliver justice to all sides according to the gravity of their actions. NAYO in a press release further urged for peace and harmony amongst all communities existing in the state capital. Meanwhile, it lauded the Superintendent of Police, Kohima, OC Chiephobozou and the investigation team who promptly arrested the accused in the murder of Swuduve Nakro. The organisation warned the authority against granting bail to the accused, lest the public take laws in their own hands.
