Dimapur, June 1 (MExN): Dimapur Forest Division observed World Environment Day 2018 under the theme ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’ at Forest Colony here along with students and faculty of Little Star Higher Secondary School, Dimapur.
Cash award and certificates were presented to the students for essay writing and painting competitions which were held earlier.
The DFO Dimapur K Ihevi Aomi, IFS, in his keynote address stressed on the theme and encouraged the young minds to play an important role for the better environment, stated a press release received here.
Short speeches were delivered by Pampi, Assistant Teacher and Wapangsenla, student, LSHSS.
Earlier, the foreword was delivered by Bokato Sema. The program was followed by launching of Central Nursery Dimapur by the DFO which has a capacity of raising 1,50,000 saplings and ceremonial planting along with distribution of saplings.
