Foundation training on basic statistical tools for data analysis concludes

The five-day long foundation training on basic statistical tools for data analysis for statistical staff during 2019-20 organised by Economic and Statistics Department, Nagaland concluded on February 28.

 


The resource persons for the training programme which started on February 24 last were four lecturers from Kohima Science College Jotsoma (Autonomous) Dr Seikh Farek Ahmed, Md Jakir Ali, Dr Pallab Changkakoti and Rovila Jinger along with Joint Director of Economic and Statistics Department Neidilhou Angami and Economics and Statistics Officer David Khutso.

 


Topics delivered by the resource persons include Measure of Central Tendencies, Sampling Techniques, Stratified Random Sampling, Testing of Hypothesis, Systematic and Cluster Sampling, Z-test and T-test, Identification of data for survey, Data Collection and Tabulation, Measures of Dispersion, Wholesale and Retail Index Number, Correlation and Regression Analysis etc.

 


Deputy Director Kezhalelhou Solo chaired the valedictory function of the week-long training.

 


Director Y Sacheo Ovung emphasized on the need for regular training of the officers and staff of the department in order to upgrade their skill towards proper and accurate collection of data. He encouraged the trainees to utilize knowledge gained through the training to effectively carry out the statistical works.
Altogether 40 officials of the department attended the training. 

 


Meanwhile, the valedictory function was also marked with farewell dinner of the Retiring Commissioner & Secretary Of Economics & Statistics Department, Kelei Zeliang.
