Four Phek villages seek cooperation for road construction

Phek, January 22 (MExN): The Road Construction Committee (RCC) of four villages in Phek district has appealed to the governments of all Naga National Groups and the general public to “give their fullest cooperation towards the ongoing road construction in between Sohomi junction to Suthotsu Village via Khutsokhuno and Tehephu under PMGSY Scheme.” 

A press release from the RCC Convener, S Khuvepa Chizo, and Secretary, Thupuzo Nienu, stated that the “four villages being the most remote and backward area among the region in particular and the Chakhesang in general has suffered for several decades due to bad road condition and moreover many lives have gone due to lack of good road connectivity towards the District Hospital.”

With the public economy “depressed” with some failing to even provide education for their children, the RCC reiterated its appeal to all factions and general public to “give moral support to the contractor to construct with quality work and successful completion towards the welfare of the public.”
