Free speech, hearing and vision check-up held

Kohima, December 3 (MExN): On World Disability Day, Beautiful Minds Centre for Child Development in collaboration with Clarity Speech & Hearing Clinic and Optical Illusions Eye Clinic conducted a free speech, hearing and vision check-up. CHILDLINE Kohima created awareness about CHILDLINE 1098 and its services to the patients.


Beautiful Minds Centre for Child Development is an initiation to help children with mostly invisible disabilities and to provide excellent care and education to children from 2-15 years of age with a wide range of needs including children with complex needs, speech and language delay, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, SLI, Down's Syndrome, learning disability etc.


The eye and vision assessment was done by Wewe-u Khalo, Optometrist and the Speech & Hearing Assessment was done by Henwasin Sweety Lorin, Audiologist & Speech Language Pathologist.


A press release stated here that the main idea behind the free camp was to bring into light to the public that there are invisible and visible disabilities. 


More than 40 patients availed the free check up, while few PWDs (person with disabilities) availed guidance and help from the CHILDLINE Kohima on linkage with scheme from the linked department.
