GBs install new log drum in Tuensang

Tuensang, June 19 (MExN): District Gaonburas Union, Tuensang installed a new log drum named ‘Chongshen’ at its Customary Court with DC Tuensang, Muhammad Ali Shihab, IAS as the chief guest on June 19.

The log drum was donated by Yali Village and sponsored by N. Khoney, Hd. GB Tuensang, informed a DIPR report.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC thanked the GBs Union, Tuensang for their commendable effort and stated that the log drum belongs to everyone in the district. “Nagas need to retain its identity and protect its rich culture from influencing by other outside factors,” he cautioned. He added that the log drum is an integral part of Naga society and exhorted the youngsters to follow the examples set by the elders.

Log drum was pulled from BOC junction till GB’s Customary Court. The programme was followed by a cultural extravaganza near the court gate.
