Genuine Regionalists: Who & Where?

Sometime in the early sixties, some likeminded and deeply concerned leaders conceived of an idea for approaching the Naga Issue which is multi-dimensional in nature and of huge magnitude in proportion. They received prompt and positive responses from all districts and tribes, leading to the formation of a Regional Party in the State. This was to function as the principal agent or catalyst for political solution/settlement of the Naga Movement/Struggle in a democratic and peaceful manner (following the inauguration of Nagaland as the 16th State of Indian Union).

These elders and leaders have made a lot of sacrifices on many occasions, true to their calling. They never became rich nor popular. In fact, their deeds seemed to have evaporated over the passing times or years, yet they laid down a solid foundation with great Heart, Vision and Hope for onward transmission to later generations.

Today we struggle and fight to sieve and filter the best out of the muddy water. May something emerge out of this quagmire, from this present rough-and-tumble bickering to recapture the original philosophy of our unsung pioneers in the interest and for the welfare of all our people at large.
