GHS Chetheba celebrates 42nd anniversary

Nagaland’s lone Rajya Sabha MP K.G Kenye today maintained that preacher and teacher are two person who shape the character and outlook of the young people and set the door of what the children would and should be in future.  

Speaking at the 42nd anniversary of Government High School Chetheba, he said teachers are doing the greatest job possible in teaching the young minds.  

Lauding the school children and the youth for presenting enchanting folk songs and dances during the celebration, he said the world today is not in search of modernity anymore. They are in search of originality.  

He stated that Nagaland is a rural based and the original culture and traditions found in the rural places.  

“We are proud of this. We are Nagas. We are different people. The only proof is in our culture,” Kenye said and called upon the people to promote and preserve the rich culture and traditions.  

Later, he inaugurated 5 KWP solar power plant in this school under MNRE JNNSN scheme while biometric attendance device was launched by Japheth Moch, ADC Chozuba.  

Gracing the occasion as the guest of honour, Dr. Chotisuh Sazo said the popularity of the institution does not determine through the year long existence but by the level of its products and performances.  

In this, Sazo urged that as the GHS Chetheba continues its journey in the field of education they must focus on centre of excellence and produce several notable personalities.  

He also called upon the teachers to take teaching as a mission so that they can have zeal and satisfaction in their work. 

He called upon the teachers to rededicate themselves and continue to enlarge the circle of education in the society.  

Dr. Sazo stressed on the need to have a triangular mechanism among the students, teachers and parents for qualitative education.  

He also stressed on the need to evolve frequent interaction between the teachers and parents to comprehend the strength as well as the weakness of the students.  

He said that constant touch between the teachers and parents will go a long way in boosting the overall performance of the children.  

Meanwhile, he urged upon those students studying in the government schools not to have inferiority complex as government school own high qualified teachers, adding that top officers and achievers were mostly from the background of the government school.  

Saprayi Lohe, SDEO Chozuba complimented the GHS Chetheba for attaining 42 years.  

He also called upon the teachers to be more dedicated and work vigorously to build the hidden talents of the students and enable them to compete with the rest of the world.  

Meanwhile, the school authority made a plea to Kenye to construct the school roof. It also requested Dr. Sazo for construction of Boy’s Hostel for GHS Chetheba in commemoration of the 42nd anniversary.  

GHS Chetheba headmaster Etsongoyi Medeo said the issue of admission forms for the academic year 2018 will start from December 4 to 12.  

This school offer free admission and free text books for Class VI and VII students and also free text books for Class VIII students.
