GHSS Pfutsero sports week sees traditional games

Phek, September 10 (MExN): The 58th annual sports week of Government Higher Secondary School Pfutsero which commenced today featured blending of traditional games.


The school has included traditional wooden cart racing, archery, bamboo stilt race, hurdle race and bamboo pole climbing as events in the meet.


The meet was formally inaugurated by Razousheyi Vese, Additional Director, School Education as guest speaker. Vese reminded the students that education and sports must go hand in hand as it is not possible to do well in academics if ones health is not good. He further urged the students to embrace essential life skills while they are still young.


He also appreciated the community leaders of Pfutsero for their active participation in the development and growth of the school.


Vilunyi Movi, PET administered oath to the participating teams. The inaugural function was led by Khwete-u Kapfo while Vechikhoyi Lohe, principal GHSS Pfutsero delivered welcome address.
