GMS upgradation touches Porterlane, Kohima

The residents of Porterlane, Kohima have a great reason to rejoice today as the Government Primary School Porterlane has been upgraded to that of Government Middle School.
MLA Dr. Nicky Kire, chairman Nagaland Khadi & Village Industries Board and advisor Music Task Force unveiled the plaque and formally announced the upgradation of GPS to that of GMS in the presence of officials from school education department, public leaders, teachers and students.
Meanwhile, Ward Education Committee chairman Shurhovol Naleo said that necessary infrastructure will be done within this winter season to kick start the process of middle school by the next academic year.
Presently, the school housed 237 students. It is learnt that the school is facing shortage of teachers. Currently, it has 10 teachers which include 2 language teachers.
