Go Air to start operation on Aizawl-Guwahati-Kolkatta sector from October 15

A Mumbai based low-cost airline, Go Air will start operation from October 15 connecting Mizoram, an official said on September 22.

 

Principal Consultant for Civil Aviation, Wing Commander Joe Lalhmingliana said that although IndiGo is yet to schedule its operation, Go Air has decided to start operation on Aizawl-Guwahati-Kolkatta sector from October 15. He also said that Go Air has already sold air tickets  for the period October 15 to 26.

 

Earlier, Go Air deputy manager (Airports), Sumit Bhandari had visited Aizawl and said that the airline will operate Airbus-A320 daily.

 

According to the statement issued by the airline earlier, flight schedules have been fixed as per which departure from Guwahati is fixed at 6:50 am and arrival at Lengpui Airport in Mizoram at 7:50 am while departure from Aizawl is fixed at 8:40 am and arrival at Guwahati airport at 9:50 am.

 

Lalhmingliana also said that officials of IndiGo had also visited Aizawl and discussed about flight operation from the state capital.

 

Though the airline is yet to decide its timetable, it is planning to start operation from October, he said.

 

Mizoram has been facing air link problem after Jet Airway withdrew operation from the state in February this year.

 

As of now, the state has only one direct link with Kolkata, which is being operated by Air India.  Lalhmingliana said that efforts are on to have direct air link between Aizawl and Delhi.
