GOC 3 Corps visits Kohima

Dimapur, January 12 (MExN): Lieutenant General Anil Chauhan, AVSM, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding 3 Corps visited Kohima on January 12, where among other places, he visited Headquarters IGAR (North) at Kohima and the Assam Rifles garrison in Chiswema.  

According to an AR press note, the GOC reviewed the security situation in Chiswema.  

He further called on the family of Captain (Late) Neikezhakuo Kenguruse, the Mahavir Chakra awardee from Nagaland known for his bravery during Kargil War, it added. He was bestowed the highest gallantry award posthumously.  

Beside, the GOC 3 Corps discussed a wide ranging issues with Governor of Nagaland PB Acharya during their interaction.  

The Governor complimented the outstanding contribution of the Assam Rifles towards maintaining peace and tranquillity in Nagaland, the press note added.
