Kohima, February 13 (MExN): Lieutenant General Gopal R, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding of Spear Corps visited Kohima on February 12. He was briefed on the present security scenario by the IG Assam Rifles (North), informed a press release.
The GOC interacted with the officers and troops of Assam Rifles and exhorted them to continue to perform their duty with dedication and devotion to the country in the true spirit of the motto of Assam Rifles ‘Friends of the North East’, the release added.
He also called on Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya and had discussion on wide ranging issues. The Governor, according to the release, complimented Lieutenant General Gopal R, on assuming the coveted post of GOC Spear Corps and conveyed his appreciation for the contributions of the Assam Rifles towards maintaining peace and tranquility in Nagaland.
